 Blog 1.8 Rubik's Cube

Welcome back to my blog! I can't believe it is already week 8! I think this week I made a lot of progress as I continued to practice the solve. I definitely feel more comfortable with the algorithms and the cube itself. I rewatched the YouTube video this week to teach myself ergonomics, which is how to hold the cube. Apparently, there is a proper way to position your hands around the cube to make the solve easier. I find this strategy to be more difficult and uncomfortable. After practicing with the cube in my own way, trying to reposition my hands made solving the cube more confusing. If I wanted to use the proper hand placement, I should have started with learning it! However, that doesn't matter to me because I have a better understanding on how to actually solve the cube!

In my previous blogs I touched on the topic of how my original goal, to solve the cube, may need to be slightly tweaked before my Ted Talk presentation. Even after all the time I have spent with the cube, there are moments when I need to go back to the video for help. I am unable to solve the cube with out the help of the lesson on YouTube. So for my presentation, I plan on teaching you the important steps, the most frustrating moments I've encountered, and I hope to give you all the desire to learn the Rubik's Cube!
