 Blog 1.1 Rubik's Cube

       This week I will be researching my chosen Genius Hour project, the Rubik's Cube. The Rubik's Cube is a 3-D puzzle used to test one's skills and concentration to complete and solve the game. I have learned with research that this puzzle will require a lot of studying and practice to accomplish my goal of solving the cube. In order for this to happen, my first step will be to purchase the game itself. 

    I believe that my Shark Tank pitch presentation went very well this week. I included and thoroughly covered all of the given points that were instructed in my slide show presentation. Learning how to solve the Rubik's Cube will be a very difficult process, however I am willing to take the time and follow the steps in order to complete my goal. If for some reason I encounter problems and set backs that prevent me from fully solving the puzzle, I hope to gain knowledge on this subject and be able to educate the class on how the the Rubik's cube works and hopefully lead them to an interest on solving this highly difficult game. My main goal from studying this topic is to be able to teach the class during my Ted Talk on all my research that has been done within these 8 weeks. Rubik's Cube 5x5 | Rubik's Official Website

    Great job! I think it's great you are learning a mind game! When I've tried it, it was very difficult. Hope everything works out! You can do it!

 Blog 1.7 Rubik's Cube      Welcome back to week seven of my blog! I love looking through everyone's blogs to see all the progress that has been made in our class! As I work on my project, I find myself gaining new knowledge and skills when solving the cube. I've never realized how difficult and complex this game is until I tried it out myself. It gets very frustrating at times when you do all these steps, and it doesn't come out right.  Blog 1.4 Rubik's Cube     Hey guys! This week I have spent a majority of my time trying to  critique the steps I have learned to solve the cube! As you know from my previous blogs, the first step in to create a daisy looking image on the upper face of the cube. Seems simple right? Actually, this step requires a lot of practice to properly form this figure. Along with all the practice I have done outside of class, I have learned how to preform the next step: fully solving the top, yellow face. This was very exciting for me, because the puzzle appears to be almost fully solved! Although I have completed this step, I will still need to practice resolving it throughout the week, because the algorithm is very long and complex.

Cooking 2.1

      Hi guys! I'm so happy if you are  reading this, because I actually made myself a meal that was edible!  Drum roll please... I made a grilled cheese sandwich served with homemade chex mix. I know you're thinking a grilled cheese is the most easy and simple meal. However, in my opinion, this is a big accomplishment for me. If you read my cooking 2.0 blog, you would know I don't make my own meals.     Making a grilled cheese sandwich was a good first step for me. This week I  didn't face any struggles and challenges, so it gave me confidence in my cooking abilities! One time my mom made me this same sandwich and she forgot to take the clear wrapping off of the cheese. So technically, I'm already better than her.       My plan for this genius hour is to start small and grow each week.
